Charlie Sheen’s Movies

With Charlie Sheen being the highest paid sitcom star on TV right now, it’s really kind of fascinating to look back and remember all the great movies in which he’s acted over the years as well.  What’s your favorite of his biggest hits?

(One note about this poll, it turns out that Charlie’s been in a lot of movie series.  Single titles here represent every movie from the series.)

That Charlie Sheen Signature

By now you’ve probably seen or heard of the Charlie Sheen shirts collection. Designed by Davinci, they reflect that great, retro casual style he wears on Two and a Half Men.

They reflect that Sheen signature – off the cuff, relaxed but somehow elegant. Here’s a handful of Charlie’s quotes in the same vein.

On winning a Golden Globe
“This is like a sober acid trip”

On the acting profession
“Usually in a battle sequence when a bomb is going off, you forget you’re acting.”

“There is a fine line between confidence and cockiness. And when you lose sight of what side you’re walking on, that’s when you are in trouble.”

“I don’t know. I want to go home at the end of the day and feel like I left a certain part of myself behind. You watch a Pacino performance, a DeNiro performance, you sit back in wonder and watch what they did. I’m curious as to what it would take for me to get to that place.”

“It’s hard to be specific about what parts I may have lost. But ultimately, it’s what I’m known for.”

On vampires (okay, it’s really about drinking)
“I was just tired – and sick and tired of being sick and tired, of living like a vampire.”

A Very Painful Two and a Half Men

It’s going to be a rough one tonight, folks.  We’ll be pouring extra large beers at the Lounge tonight while Two and a Half Men is on the TV over the bar.  I have a feeling that we’ll all going to need that little extra boost of courage to deal with the trauma.  Charlie’s fiance might have to get a breast reduction.

I know.  It’s too terrible for words.  I can’t go on; here’s the promo -

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Open Mike Thursdays – Louis CK

This week’s comedian is Louis CK. The language is a little adulty so don’t play it too loudly on your speakers at work or be eight years old while you watch it.

Darts for the Sedentary Barfly Lifestyle

Posted by author | darts | Wednesday 28 October 2009 10:43 am

We love darts here in the Lounge. It’s one of those truly beautiful games where one can be a barfly and still be good at it. The most effort involved is getting up and walking a few paces from the bar. What could be better?

One of our regulars – you know who you are – insists that we should hang the dart board on the wall behind the bar so he doesn’t even have to get up anymore. I have to admit that there’s a certain amount of logic to that plan. But our bartenders are strongly opposed to being caught in the crossfire. So, for now, the dart board stays where it is.

But, as a courtesy, here are some tips for making darts more conducive to the sedentary barfly lifestyle:

  1. Tie a string to you dart so you don’t have to walk those extra few steps to the board and back to retrieve them. Just throw and yank!
  2. Tip the servers to throw for you. When we polled them, most of the staff agreed that a dollar per dart would be fair.
  3. Throw from the bar. The oche is only there to keep you from stand too close. We don’t see any problem with standing, or sitting in your case, farther away.
  4. Get a motorized bar stool – the ultimate barfly vehicle!
